X-Ray
Products for X-ray Measurements under Controlled Temperature and Tensile Conditions Announced
Oct 24 2014
Market leaders in temperature controlled microscopy, Linkam Scientific Instruments, are working with French instrument company, Xenocs, to provide the facility to perform X-ray experiments under changing temperature and/or tensile conditions. Linkam is pleased to announce that their temperature stages have been chosen by Xenocs to incorporate in their recently launched Nano-inXider X-ray characterisation system opening new perspectives in many research fields. Xenocs is a French instrument company formed as a spinout from the Laue Langevin Institute. The company provides solutions for nanomaterial characterisation using Small and Wide Angle X-ray Scattering technique. Since its creation in 2000, Xenocs has built a strong reputation for its expertise in X-ray technology, the performance of its products and the quality of its customer support. With unique product concepts and proprietary technologies, Xenocs brings an unparalleled level of performance, opening new capabilities for advanced SAXS/WAXS measurements in the lab. With the demand for more information on the properties of materials on the nanoscale, Xenocs now offer two of Linkam's stages providing the ability to change in situ experimental conditions. The HFSX350 temperature stage enables studies in transmission mode simultaneously with Grazing-Incidence Small Angle Scattering (GISAXS) measurements over a temperature range from -196°C to 350°C. Operating over the same temperature range is the TST350 tensile stage which enables the operator to change the tensile force on the sample over a choice of ranges: 0.01 N to 20 N or 0.1 N to 200 N. Speaking about this collaboration, Linkam's Sales & Marketing Manager, Duncan Stacey, is pleased to see this new collaboration. "We have been most impressed by Xenoc's attention to detail in the design of their products. They have created systems that are a unique combination of performance, ergonomics, compactness and ease of use."
