In-tank, In-Line and Powder Liquid mixing options for the lab

Silverson Machines manufacturers the widest capacity range from a single manufacturer with mixers able to process batches as small as 1ml. The product range includes a variety of different laboratory-scale high shear mixing equipment, allowing manufacturers to experience the high quality of Silverson machinery whether they are mixing in-tank, In-Line or incorporating powders into liquids.

L5 Series - Multipurpose Laboratory Mixers

The latest development in high shear lab mixing – the Silverson L5 Series – is ideal for all laboratory work, research and development, QA analysis and small scale production in all industries. The L5 Series Laboratory Mixer is suitable for the widest range of applications – mixing, emulsifying, homogenising, disintegrating and dissolving – with an efficiency and flexibility unmatched by other machines.

This model can be supplied with different mixing assemblies, increasing the versatility. These include:

  • Ultramix assembly - for ingredients that require vigorous mixing, but do not necessarily require the high shear of a standard Silverson rotor/stator mixer.
  • Duplex Disintegrator/Dissolver – this converts the L5 into a small-scale version of the Duplex. With its twin-workhead this assembly is ideal of disintegration and solubilisation of solids.
  • Tubular assembly – a series of interchangeable mixing units suitable for use in narrow-necked containers. 
  • In-Line assembly – this converts the L5 into an In-Line mixer/homogeniser with a throughput of around 20 litres/minute. 

Silverson Verso – benchtop In-Line Laboratory Mixer

The Silverson Verso offers a great many advantages to the processor - speed, versatility, self-pumping, aeration-free, guaranteed efficiency. This model is ideal for laboratory applications, with self-pumping throughputs of up to 2,400 litres per hour. 

Additional models include the Verso UHS, an Ultra-Hygienic version of the standard model designed for stringent applications in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries. A unit designed for mixing higher viscosity products, the Verso-UHS-HV, is also available. 

FMX5 – Laboratory-scale Powder/Liquid Mixer

The FMX5 provides a simple, effective and hygienic means of powder/liquid mixing on a laboratory scale. It is a laboratory-scale version of the Flashmix and it operates on the same principle. The unit is suitable for small scale manufacturing and R&D work and as it is designed with a Flashmix-style pumping rotor, it is able to process higher viscosity mixes. These mixers offer a unique method of incorporating powders into liquid, producing an agglomerate-free and homogeneous product in the lab. 

All Silverson Laboratory range mixers offer excellent reproducibility when scaling up to full-scale production. They provide an accurate and easy means of forecasting the performance of larger Silverson machines under full-scale working conditions, making scaling-up an easy process.

For slightly larger batch sizes, Silverson also has an extensive range of Pilot-scale and Small-scale mixing equipment. Suitable for batches of up to 50 litres.
