Thermo Fisher Scientific has introduced the DXR3™ SmartRaman+ Raman Spectrometer, designed to streamline quality control across pharmaceutical and industrial environments. The system combines non-destructive Raman spectroscopy with automated sampling and custom sample holders, allowing testing directly through final product packaging. This preserves sample integrity while detecting defects or contaminants with confidence.

Quality control can be time-consuming and labour-intensive. The DXR3 SmartRaman+ accelerates workflows, reduces manual handling, and simplifies operator training through intuitive hardware and software. This helps teams make confident decisions, minimise sample waste, and maintain consistent product quality from production through to packaging.

"The DXR3 SmartRaman+ brings efficiency and confidence to QC workflows," said Ganesh Prasad, General Manager for Vibrational Spectroscopy Products at Thermo Fisher Scientific. "By combining non-destructive Raman analysis, automated sampling, and intuitive operation, it helps teams detect contaminants faster and maintain consistent quality across manufacturing processes."

The spectrometer supports both 532 nm and 785 nm lasers, giving flexibility to analyse liquids, powders, and finished packaged products. It can be used for a range of applications, including fill-and-finish quality control in pharmaceuticals, detecting adulterants in consumer goods, and verifying defects in industrial laboratories.

Designed for ease of use, the DXR3 SmartRaman+ integrates smoothly into existing workflows. Its intuitive software and plug-and-play connectivity allow operators to get up to speed quickly while minimising manual input. The system also supports OPC UA connectivity, enabling seamless integration with manufacturing platforms for consistent data management and QC reporting.

By combining speed, accuracy, and non-destructive testing, the DXR3 SmartRaman+ delivers faster, safer, and more reliable quality control. It helps teams safeguard product quality at every stage of production, from initial manufacturing to final packaging, making it a versatile tool for both pharmaceutical and industrial environments.
