The Royal Microscopical Society (RMS) is pleased to announce its First Meeting in Northern Ireland; a symposium entitled “Bioimaging: Illumination of Disease” will be held at Queen’s University Belfast on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th January 2011.
This meeting will focus on the application of the expanding range of bio-imaging techniques to evaluate and improve our understanding of the biological processes involved in cancer, infection and infectious organisms.
The keynote speakers will include Professor Tony Wilson Hon FRMS; current RMS President (University of Oxford), Professor Vyvyan Howard; former RMS President (University of Ulster), Professor Peter Hamilton (Queens University Belfast) and Professor Jeremy Simpson (University College Dublin) and the meeting will provide the opportunity for both oral presentations and posters from submitted abstracts.
There will also be an exciting trade related component to the meeting from international suppliers. Local organiser, Stewart Church, said “This will be a dynamic and innovative meeting. Northern Ireland has a strong
