New Planetary Ball Mill for Streamlined Sample Processing

Enhanced efficiency, ergonomic handling and increased sample throughput

In a stride towards advancing laboratory operations, Retsch presents the latest addition to its extensive range of ball mills – the innovative Planetary Ball Mill PM 300. Boasting a host of sophisticated features, this new model simplifies routine lab tasks to a remarkable extent.

Operating at a maximum speed of 800 rpm, the PM 300 harnesses unparalleled size reduction energy, enabling swift pulverisation of samples into the nanometer scale. Its compact benchtop design accommodates up to 4 stackable grinding jars, allowing for the processing of 440 ml of sample material in a single run – a capacity that significantly surpasses that of its counterparts.

Safety takes centre stage in the operation of this planetary ball mill. The robust Safety Slider mechanism ensures that the mill remains inert until the grinding jar is securely fastened through the ergonomic clamping unit. An exceptional safety aspect of the PM 300 lies in its ability to emit an acoustic signal and display notification once the clamping unit attains the required 25 Nm force, guaranteeing the fixation's reliability. For added convenience, Retsch provides a dedicated clamping aid to streamline the procedure.

Operating in conjunction with the new EasyFit jar line, the PM 300 stands out for its Advanced Anti-Twist feature, which guarantees secure immobilisation of the grinding jar. The redesigned geometry of the 50 ml and 250 ml jars expedites the attainment of the desired grind size.
