Basic information: what is a flat flange?
A flat flange is a special type of flange used to join and seal two pipes or vessels. It consists of a flat ring with holes for attaching screws or bolts. The flat flange is usually placed between the two flanges to be joined and then tightened with the bolts to create a secure connection. The name "flat flange" derives from the flat, planar surface of the ring, as opposed to other types of flanges such as the threaded flange or the weld flange. The flat flange allows the lid to be securely attached to the reactor body and ensures a reliable seal to prevent leakage.
