How to Achieve the Best Performance for Your System
Mar 01 2022
X-ray analysis is used in particular to check automatically produced goods for possible errors. For this purpose, the X-rays are used to detect solid, powdery or liquid substances in order to identify ingredients or defects. Particularly low vacuum pressures are required in the various X-ray applications. The main part of such vacuum systems is the turbopump. In order to achieve the desired pressure range, you also need a backing pump. Various dry backing pumps are available, such as diaphragm pumps, multi-stage Roots pumps or scroll pumps.
Successful with the right equipment
The Turbopump family from Pfeiffer Vacuum includes a wide product spectrum in the pumping speed range of 10 to 2,800 l/s. The pumps provide high cost-efficiency and flexibility. Well-proven bearing systems offer optimized reliability. Thanks to the proven rotor design, extremely high values are achieved where pumping speeds, backing pump compatibility and gas throughput, as well as compression for light gases, are concerned.
The HiScroll series consists of three dry and hermetically sealed scroll pumps with a nominal pumping speed of 6 to20 m³/h. The pumps are especially characterized by their high performance when evacuating against atmosphere due to their unique features. The scroll pump is extremely quiet, efficient and oil-free. With these properties, it covers many applications in the field of analytics, industry or research & development.
Diaphragm pumps are an optimal solution to generate the required fore-vacuum; as they are very robust and, thanks to their compact design they can be integrated into small analytical systems, mass spectrometers or turbo pumping stations. With the MVP 030-3 C DC, Pfeiffer Vacuum has now introduced a new corrosive gas version of the diaphragm pump. This version features a gas ballast valve and excellent chemical and condensate compatibility. The special choice of materials ensures significantly increased robustness in a wide range of processes.
