Direct Heat vs Water-Jacket CO2 Incubators

Which one is the best for your cell culture research? Temperature control is fundamental to any incubator, but you should know the nuances to the two technologies used to achieve it so that you can choose the one that is best for your application. Direct heat incubators use heating elements arrayed around the chamber that usually reach the setpoint temperature more quickly and often even enable high heat decontamination cycles. Water jacketed incubators envelop the chamber with a water jacket that heats up more slowly but may ultimately provide better temperature uniformity and protection in case of a power outage. These are just a few examples of the pros and cons to these two incubator types that you can read about in our free white paper.
