Temperature Control / Sterilising
The Perfect Small Sterilizer for Tall Loads
Jul 05 2022
The new SMART 60L top loading autoclaves introduced by Priorclave are available with pre-defined advanced features as standard. These give customers the opportunity to buy a compact, fully featured research-grade laboratory autoclave at a more competitive price and one capable of handling a wider range of loads (including mixed loads), automatically producing drier loads as standard.
For the small laboratory or those with limited space, the SMART 60L top-loading autoclave is ideal as it requires just 472 x 620mm of floor space. And despite its compact size, the vertical chamber makes it the ideal steam sterilizer for labs looking to process tall items such as fermenters. Typically this autoclave can accommodate easily ten one-litre or sixteen 500ml bottles, alternatively six one-litre Erlenmeyer flasks.
With the electrical heating elements contained in the actual sterilizing chamber, there is a faster and more efficient build-up of high-temperature, pressurised sterilising steam for more effective sterilising throughput.
Programming sterilising set-up of time and temperature as well as selection of special features is all via the very latest Tactrol® 3 microprocessor control which incorporates graphic indication of cycle status. Key features such as free steaming can improve air removal in difficult loads and/or reduce temperature lag between the load and the autoclave, reducing process time at higher temperatures.
There is also a media warming feature that cycles the temperature between approximately 45o to 55oC once the factory preâ€ÂÂÂset temperature of 45oC has been reached. This continuous until the door is opened, allowing nutrient media, for example, to be held as a liquid until it is needed, especially when used along with the delayed start function.
Access to the sterilising chamber is via the patented Quickseal single-action door closure/opening mechanism. Suited to one handed operation, the mechanism incorporates thermal and pressure locks preventing opening at unsafe temperatures and pressure to prevent personal injury.
Priorclave’s Smart autoclaves are intended for industrial, research, and production labs and facilities with greater or more diverse needs. Owing to their high efficiency and extremely small footprint (relative to chamber size) the new SMART top loading autoclaves are rapidly establishing themselves a firm favourite with labs.
They can adeptly handle standard tasks (e.g., media prep, waste loads, labware) but can also produce drier loads and more reliably handle complex loads that tend to trap air. Ideal for mixed waste loads, biological waste or pathogen-heavy materials, cloth and textile sterilisation, soil and substrate preparation, wrapped instruments, and porous loads.
The build quality and performance of Priorclave vertical chamber top-loading autoclaves is unquestionable - durable and dependable. They incorporate epoxy coated panels and frame members treated with an anti-bacterial agent that is highly effective and permanent treatment for control of harmful bacteria, making surfaces cleaner, more hygienic and providing durable lifelong protection against the threat of cross contamination. This tough special epoxy finish is proven to reduce bacterial growth by up to 99.99% and is highly effective against MRSA, E coli, Listeria, Legionella, Campylobacter, Salmonella, Pseudomonas and over fifty other species.
When buying into the Priorclave brand you gain an autoclave in the knowledge that every care has been taken to build robust machines, reliable sterilising performance, with a superior exterior finish to body panels and frames that eliminate possible cross-contamination within laboratories.
