RMS Flow Cytometry Course 2024
Jun 19 2024
The Royal Microscopical Society’s popular Flow Cytometry Course will return to the University of York from 2 - 6 September, which aims to cover both clinical applications and applications in cell biology. The common fundamentals will be covered on the first two days before attendees split into either the clinical or cell biology streams; these will include practical demonstrations and lectures highlighting not just the applications, but best practise as well.
Constructed as a set of three modules, applicants can attend the course from between two to five days, depending on the modules selected.
The modules consist of lectures interspersed with sessions in the laboratory. The Society is anticipating that instruments from two manufacturers will be available for practical work.
This course is open to all and is suitable for those who are relatively new to flow cytometry and who want to expand their experience with applications and specific analysis. The RMS also offers training subsidies to support members wishing to attend who are working in a technician role in higher education or research.
A trade exhibition will also be held at this event on Wednesday 4 September.
Scientific Organisers:
Dan Payne, James Cook University Hospital
Derek Davies, Cytometry
Karen Hogg, Flow Cytometry Section Chair, University of York
