International Microscopy Lecture Series
May 09 2022
The Royal Microscopical Society is pleased to announce a lecture by Professor Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz entitled "Looking under the hood of cells: from single molecule dynamics to whole cell organelle reconstructions" at 16:00 BST / 11:00 EDT / 18.00 IDT on Tuesday 21 June 2022. Registration to this lecture is free.
Dr. Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz is a Senior Group Leader at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Janelia Research Campus. She has pioneered the use of green fluorescent protein technology for quantitative analysis and modelling of intracellular protein traffic and organelle dynamics in live cells and embryos.
The International Microscopy Lecture Series is a collaborative undertaking by four International Microscopy Societies (the Royal Microscopical Society (RMS), the Microscopical Society of Canada, the Israel Society for Microscopy and the Brazilian Society of Microscopy and Microanalysis).
Also supported by the International Federation of Societies for Microscopy (IFSM), this initiative has been developed as an international networking platform for recording and expanding knowledge, sharing new developments and exchanging best practices related to microscopy. Capturing the life-time achievements of founders and pioneers in modern microscopy, these virtual presentations of groundbreaking achievements made available to a worldwide audience, are archived and informal video interviews with the guest speakers additionally released. These virtual lectures are made available on RMS YouTube channel, with links posted on a webpage to the video interviews.
