Feb 17 2011
The Genesis Awards held in Westminster (Dec 17) saw a host of science and healthcare companies, both large and small, rewarded for their efforts within the biotech industry. The awards followed the 10th annual Genesis event, hosted by One Nucleus, which saw speakers from organisations such as CRUK, BayBIO, Eli Lilly and ABLE sharing their experiences and participating in panel discussions.
The evening commenced with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BayBIO and The Golden Triangle Partnership, setting out the way in which the two clusters will collaborate to increase visibility and deal flow for their respective members in new territories.
Recognising the critical contribution the service sector plays in the success of our life science sector, GE Healthcare and Gregory Fryer Associates received awards as Technical Service Provider of the Year and Professional Services Provider of the Year, respectively. Building confidence in the sector through effective communication of their success earned Almac Group the Company Newsflow of the Year award. The Life Science Innovation & Enterprise Programme of the Year award, marking success in commercialising early stage innovation went to Domainex.
Professor Colin Howard, CEO of the London Bioscience Innovation Centre and Vice-Principal of the Royal Veterinary College was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award marking his outstanding contribution to research, enterprise and spearheading the creation of London’s first bio-incubator. Harriet Fear, CEO of One Nucleus (formerly ERBI), said: “We are delighted to help recognise success in the UK life science sector. Many congratulations to all short listed companies and the winners.”
