KTP Funding Supports Protein Engineering Project

The Technology Strategy Board (TSB) has offered The School of Pharmacy, University of London, a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) grant that will be used to part-fund work being undertaken in collaboration with PolyTherics Ltd, a company specialising in protein engineering. The funding will be used to employ a KTP Associate who will develop and optimise the use of mass spectroscopy to confirm the location of polyethylene (glycol) (PEG) on proteins and peptides that are being developed as longacting drugs by PolyTherics. The project is scheduled to run for 24 months and the TSB is providing just over £78,000 to support the work.

The KTP, which aims to help businesses improve their competitiveness and productivity through better use of the knowledge, technology and skills that reside within the UK Knowledge Base, is funded by the TSB along
with other government organisations.

The School of Pharmacy, University of London is dedicated entirely to teaching and research in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences.
