Sartorius and Denator Amongst ‘iF Award Winners
Mar 29 2010
International Forum Design GmbH has announced winners of the international ‘iF product design award 2010 which include the Sartorius Group (Goettingen, Germany) and Denator AB (Gothenburg Sweden). Sartorius was awarded for its Cubis premium laboratory balance and arium pro laboratory water purification system in the Medicine/Healthcare category.
Reinhard Vogt, Member of the Executive Board for Marketing, Sales and Service at Sartorius AG, feels that the award reflects the group’s drive for innovation: “High quality products are not just characterised by top-quality components but also by intuitive, comfortable and secure operation. Therefore, when developing our products we also incorporate the working environment of our customers and any relevant regulatory standards into the process from the outset, combining the latest technology with a clear design.” The fact that Sartorius received 2 awards at the same time will serve as a stimulus for developing other new customer-oriented products, says the marketing expert.
Denator received the iF Award, also under the Health and Care category for its Stabilisor instrument, designed to stabilise biological tissues and fluids from the moment of sampling. Stabilisation and standardisation of sampling processes upstream significantly enhances the quality of data obtained from analytical techniques used downstream. Olof Sköld, CEO at Denator, stated: “We are very proud to receive such a prestigious award as the ‘iF design award. This confirms the importance of designing products with the user in mind.”
Around the world, the iF logo is a wellestablished symbol recognised for its denotation for design quality, with winning products selected by an international jury of experts. This year, 778 products were awarded with among close to 2500 entries from 39 countries. Presentations will take place at the iF product design award exhibition held at the Hannover Centre on 2 March 2010, also coinciding with the first day of CeBIT. The Exhibition will run from March to August and is expected to attract over 250 000 international visitors.
