Chilworth Technology Acquires JCI

Chilworth Technology Ltd (CTL), a leading provider of services in the field of process safety, has acquired John Chubb Instrumentation (JCI).
This deal will see the JCI brand developed further under the world wide business activities of CTL, alongside their existing laboratory equipment provision, consultancy and testing services.

A crucial aspect of CTL’s service is the identification and control of static electricity, which poses an ignition hazard in a wide range of industries. CTL also applies this same expertise to addressing processing problems caused by static electricity, and in the development of novel and beneficial applications of static electricity.

JCI, established in 1983, has also achieved an outstanding reputation in the area of instruments for electrostatic measurements having designed and manufactured a comprehensive range of instruments for specialist scientists and engineers around the world, as well as providing electrostatic consulting and testing services.

Although the acquisition also marks the retirement of John Chubb, he will remain associated with the business for the foreseeable future, a spokesman said.

Phil Holland, MD of Chilworth Technology believes that bringing together these two businesses, and marrying their individual but related knowledge and expertise can only be beneficial for both companies and their respective clients.
