Japanese Market Entry Key to Growth

A key step in its global growth strategy was achieved by CatSci following its expansion into the Japan at the end of March. The step was described as ‘pivotal’ to the company’s ongoing commitment to support pharmaceutical companies worldwide in meeting their CMC demands.

In 2019, CatSci started focusing on international markets with expansion into the EU and US, while continuing to grow in the UK, hiring Dr Jas Douville as Head of Business Development for North America, Dr João Madeira do Ó as Head of Business Development for Europe and Dr Jenny Wallis as Head of Business Development for UK and the Rest of the World.

The move into Japan represented the next of many advancements, which include development of the company’s workforce, laboratories, equipment and offerings as part of a £3m investment plan, the company said.

Dr Ross Burn, CEO at CatSci, said: “We are looking forward to working with our Japanese customers so that they can continue to meet the healthcare needs of the world. This key expansion will support our innovative and ambitious export strategy as we continue our global journey.”
