Jack Henion MS Award

Advion, Inc, has announced an award for college and university students who demonstrate a desire to test the limits of conventional thinking and present novel applications in mass spectrometry – the Jack Henion Award for Scientific Innovation in Mass Spectrometry. Dr. Henion, co-founder of Advion Inc., is chief scientific officer and company chairman, as well as professor emeritus of Cornell University and is a recognised leader in the field of mass spectrometry. As the inventor of ion spray, Dr. Henion, understands and values the contributions made by students for academia and industry.
This award seeks to recognise novel applications of Advion’s technology by students to encourage multi-disciplinary and ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking.
Applications will be accepted starting on May 20th at Advion’s ASMS Users Meeting through September 30th. Applicants can be technicians, undergraduates, PhD candidates or post docs, but not professor. Work must include innovative or novel use of Advion’s TriVersa NanoMate or Chip-Mate nano-ES ion source. Only one application per person will be accepted, and cannot be completed in conjunction with an Advion employee. Application details available from info@advion.com.
