Labcell is introducing the Decagon Devices AquaLab TDL water activity analyser that can be used with virtually any solid, powder, paste or liquid. The new analyser features a tunable diode laser (TDL) for very precisely measuring water vapour in the headspace above the sample, hence it is unaffected by the presence of volatiles.

As well as being suitable for quality assurance and new product development in the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and tobacco industries, the AquaLab TDL can be used for applications elsewhere, such as assessing aviation fuel for water contamination. It can even analyse products or ingredients containing the humectant propylene glycol, alcohol or soy sauce. The AquaLab TDL gives readings with an accuracy of +/-0.003 aw in approximately two minutes.

Built-in temperature equilibration ensures that readings are always consistent, verification is quick and simple by means of independent salt standards, and cleaning is easy.

Labcell is the sole UK distributor for the Decagon Devices AquaLab TDL water activity analyser. Customers interested in upgrading from an AquaLab Series 4 or to request a demonstration should contact Labcell to ask about trade-in options.
