Free Trial of State-of-the-Art Reaction Station
Jun 07 2012
Electrothermal’s STEM Integrity 10 Reaction Station enables ten experiments to be run simultaneously within the same unit, each with its own temperature profile and precisely controlled stirring rate. Now universities, companies and organisations have the opportunity to try this unique, state-of-the-art product for free.
Already selected by almost all the Top 20 Pharma companies for use in drug solubility and crystallisation assessment trials, the STEM Integrity 10 Reaction Station also has widespread application in the food, beverage, brewing, chemical, petrochemical, cosmetic, diesel and biofuel industries. In fact, the STEM Integrity 10 is a valuable tool whenever reactions involving synthetic chemicals or natural substances need controlled heating, cooling or stirring, in contexts such as investigative research, screening tests, quality testing or production monitoring.
Electrothermal is offering a free trial of the STEM Integrity 10 to selected universities, companies and other organisations, confident that once laboratories have tried working with the unit they will quickly find it indispensible.
At each of the ten positions, heating over a temperature range of -30°C to 150°C with ±0.5°C accuracy is combined with 1rpm stirring control between 350 and 1200 rpm. The STEM Integrity 10 maps the progress of each reaction on its user-friendly touchscreen and automatically records all the data gathered. This capability can significantly increase laboratory throughput and supports Lean Lab working by enabling multiple users to run experiments simultaneously, leave the unit unattended overnight or work elsewhere.
The unit’s small footprint facilitates use in a fume hood or on the lab bench, and makes for easy transport between labs. Control is possible via an external computer, for example when integrating the STEM Integrity 10 into a robotic platform.
Current accessories include intrusive and non-intrusive IR probes, temperature probes, a reflux unit, and PTFE caps for working under inert gas or vacuum conditions, with further accessories planned for introduction later this year.
