Analox is an acknowledged authority on laboratory gas safety solutions and is recognised worldwide for its expertise. Since 1981 the company has been producing innovative monitoring systems for detecting potentially hazardous gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2). Its recent products include the brand-new Ax 60 wall-mounted CO2 detector and alarm, recently shortlisted by S-Lab Awards 2015.

Carbon dioxide is a harmless gas at normal atmospheric levels (0.4%) but at higher concentrations it can cause asphyxiation. Its potentially lethal effects are compounded by its physical characteristics - it is a colourless and odourless gas. The Ax 60 system can monitor up to four separate CO2 sensors located in different areas, and alarms can be announced by up to eight strobe/sounder units. All connected devices report back to a central display unit from where they are set up and controlled.

The Ax 60 is ideal for laboratories which use concentrated CO2 in processes such as tissue culture, cryogenics or sample transportation. The Ax 60’s accurate sensing technology and its prominent audio-visual alarms offer an early warning of any increase in the level of ambient CO2. Each alarm unit has a high-volume sounder and high-visibility strobe, and an optional beacon is also available.
