Gas bubble safeguard for HPLC systems
Aug 05 2025
Testa Analytical’s Solvent Line Monitor is a compact, non-invasive tool that protects HPLC systems from the operational problems caused by undissolved gas microbubbles.
Gas bubbles in HPLC solvent lines can lead to erratic baselines, shifts in retention time, distorted peak shapes, increased back pressure, and even pump failure. These issues reduce data quality, making it difficult to differentiate low-level analytes from background noise and compromising overall analytical accuracy.
The Solvent Line Monitor continuously checks up to two HPLC pump feed lines in real time. If gas bubbles are detected, the device triggers an alarm and can automatically shut down the system, preventing damage and avoiding wasted sample runs.
Users can customise detection sensitivity, alarm settings, and operational modes via an intuitive PC-based software interface included with the system. Detection parameters - such as bubble size, frequency, and count - can be fine-tuned, with options to trigger different responses, from simple alerts to system stops.
Designed for seamless integration into any HPLC setup, the Solvent Line Monitor provides an extra layer of protection to ensure reliable, high-precision chromatographic results.
