New tabletop microscopes with enhanced usability
Sep 03 2024
Hitachi High-Tech Corporation has globally launched the TM4000PlusIII and TM4000III, their latest tabletop microscopes designed for enhanced usability and automation. These compact microscopes are well-suited for research and development, quality control in manufacturing, and educational purposes due to their ease of installation and operation.
The TM4000PlusIII stands out with its automation support, allowing users to create and save recipes for tasks such as stage positioning and magnification adjustments, which can then be executed automatically. This feature is particularly beneficial for users with limited expertise, enabling them to handle large sample observations with consistency and efficiency. Additionally, the microscope includes a high-current mode, which accelerates operations like particle analysis by increasing the observation signal, thereby reducing overall measurement time.
Both models also feature a tungsten filament monitoring system, which graphically reports the filament’s condition. This allows users to anticipate maintenance needs and prevent interruptions during observations, ensuring consistent operation. The TM Series microscopes are also equipped with low-vacuum and high-sensitivity backscattered electron detectors, eliminating the need for complex sample pretreatment, making them ideal for educational settings.
As digital skills become increasingly important in education, the TM4000PlusIII offers an opportunity for users to learn programming concepts through its automation features, making it a valuable tool in classrooms.
Hitachi High-Tech aims to ship 6,000 units of the TM Series globally, supporting manufacturing worldwide while continuing to innovate in measurement and inspection technologies to improve quality of life and address environmental and societal challenges.
