Nimbus Precision and Analytical Balances Introduced
Sep 15 2014
With its distinctive design and advanced features, the Nimbus series of balances from Adam Equipment delivers powerful performance and a superior weighing experience to every laboratory.
Innovative design enables a compact footprint, so the balance occupies minimal space but retains efficient performance and high-precision repeatability. A single piece of extruded aluminium provides a solid base to offer greater stability. The weighing system of the Nimbus is fabricated using hardened materials that are capable of tolerating rigorous laboratory use. Crafted from a single block, the weighing sensor in the Nimbus contains fewer parts than a traditional force motor balance, reducing the chance for deterioration and increasing the lifespan of the balance.
The Nimbus facilitates comprehensive communication with printers, computers and other peripheral devices through its standard USB and RS-232 interfaces, while a third interface allows easy connection with an optional remote display. Printouts include date and time for data tracking within good laboratory practices guidelines.
Software for the Nimbus provides all the features necessary for the demands of everyday lab work. With 10 weighing units, including a customisable unit, the Nimbus capably handles parts counting, percentage weighing, density measurement for liquids or solids, and dynamic/animal weighing. A zero-tracking feature ensures that the display returns to zero, while selectable digital filtering helps minimise the effects of vibration or disturbances.
Navigation buttons are large and colour-coded, helping users operate the balance and perform functions with minimal training. Text prompts reminding users of the function/weighing mode are shown on the brightly backlit LCD, which is easily visible in any lighting conditions. To ensure proper balance setup and optimum weighing, the Nimbus offers a level indicator and adjusting feet.
The Nimbus family comprises 15 models that deliver a full range of precision readabilities from 0.1mg to 0.1g. Analytical models have an enclosed weighing chamber made of clear glass to provide an unobstructed view of samples. Top-loading balances with 0.001g readability come with a removable, round glass shield to help minimise the effects of air movement.
