Key appointments to drive Platform Technology forward
Oct 05 2022
Andy Etheridge has joined large-scale genomic data management company Zetta Genomics as Director of Strategic Partnerships, while Liam White also takes up the position as Head of Product, to bring the company’s XetaBase platform in line with the growing data management needs of the genomics and precision medicine market.
Ludo Chapman, Chair of Zetta Genomics, commented: “Andy’s deep experience in the healthtech space means he is uniquely placed to shift Zetta’s growth strategy into high gear. His deep understanding of customer needs and market trajectory will be pivotal as we roll out our XetaBase platform and transform the delivery of precision medicine for millions of people around the world.”
“Zetta Genomics has introduced a step change to precision medicine by enabling researchers and clinicians to drive greater insights by accumulating genomic data in a highly scalable database rather than in separate files. A prime motivation is to join at precisely the moment that Zetta grows at pace and scale – and to have the opportunity to shape my own team,” commented Andy Etheridge. “I’m genuinely excited by this unique opportunity to bring my experience in healthcare technology to a start-up that is only just beginning to realise its world changing potential.”
Andy who has over 30 years experience in the healthtech space, was previously Marketing Services Director at IQVIA, a global provider of advanced analytics, technology solutions and clinical research services to the life sciences industry.
Liam White is highly experienced in the genomic technology space, having previously worked in product teams at Congenica and Prenetics. His appointment follows numerous technical hires across the Zetta Genomics team in recent months, in roles including software development, R&D and product commercialisation.
A key priority for Andy and Liam will be to lead a strategic partnership initiative at the company that will focus on identifying, recruiting and collaborating with partners who offer technologies that complement XetaBase. It will also explore partnerships that offer exciting XetaBase integration options for end users.
Since its inception at the University of Cambridge, and within the ground-breaking 100,000 Genomes Project, Zetta Genomics has built strong customer and partner networks which include Microsoft, Fujitsu, Genomics England and the NHS Genomic Medicine Service. Its platform is already compatible with the Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud computing platforms.
