Cambridge businesses urged to set sights on Singapore
Apr 14 2011
An event in Cambridge attracted 22 companies to hear about the growing export opportunities in Singapore. The meeting held recently at Taylor Vinters offices featured a mix of presentations and one to one discussions.
Amanda Brooks, Deputy High Commissioner at the British High Commission in Singapore who gave the keynote speech said: “Singapore is a rapidly growing market, achieving substantial growth this year of fifteen percent. I’m pleased to say it is proving to be especially successful for companies from this region.
“Between June 2009 and June 2010, businesses based in the East of England exported goods and services worth £182.5million to Singapore, up 6.5% on the previous year. I’m delighted that we have, today, been able to make businesses aware of the wealth of export opportunities available to them in this ever growing market.” Matt Meyer, Chief Executive of Taylor Vinters, which has recently set up a strategic alliance with Singapore based technology law firm, Keystone, said: “Having met with Amanda on my last visit to Singapore, it was a pleasure to welcome her here today and to launch our ‘Office in a Box - Asia’ which gives clients a bespoke package of support including corporate, employment, commercial and property advice on getting their operation up and running in Singapore."
