Presenter or visitor? Be a part of mmc2019

Feb 21 2019

The Microscience Microscopy Congress 2019 (mmc2019) is a must-attend event for anyone with an active involvement in microscopy and imaging. You can present your work at the International Conference or visit Europe’s largest exhibition dedicated to the subject.

Present your findings

The extended abstract submission deadline for oral presentations is 1 March and for poster presentations it is 15 March. The International Conference offers opportunities to showcase your work across a broad range of themes. Professor Michelle Peckham is President of the Royal Microscopical Society. She said, “mmc2019 is a really great platform to bring your findings to a wider audience, and there are countless opportunities to network and explore new collaborations and partnerships.”

You can submit multiple abstracts if you wish for both poster and oral presentation.

The themes are:

  • Frontiers in BioImaging
  • Scanning Probe Microscopy and Atomic Force Microscopy
  • Life Sciences
  • Engineering and Physical Sciences

You can also submit abstracts to sessions hosted by the following groups:

  • The Scottish Microscopy Group
  • The Microscopy Society of Ireland
  • The Electron Microscopy Analysis Group of the IoP (EMAG) in Instrumentation and Materials Science

A conference with a great atmosphere

The conference begins each day with a Plenary Session with talks by leading names who represent the full breadth of microscopy - from life and physical sciences, and across light and electron microscopy. “We are delighted with the line-up,” added Professor Peckham. “The build-up to each event is an exciting time, and there is always a great atmosphere on the Monday afternoon as delegates come together for those opening plenary talks.”

A world-class exhibition FREE to all

In addition to the International Conference, mmc2019 has Europe’s largest exhibition dedicated to imaging and microscopy with more than one hundred companies present; from large-scale manufacturers to consumable suppliers and start-ups. Space has sold quickly, and organisers are very pleased to have twenty first-time exhibitors booked already.

The scale and content of the exhibition makes it the perfect place to be if you are in the market for new kit or if you are planning a large-scale refurbishment or a new facility. Manufacturers have fully operational equipment which they are keen to demonstrate. And, whether it is a new electron microscope or consumables for the lab that you are looking for, they are all under the one roof in Manchester.

The exhibition is FREE to all visitors and includes a programme of workshops and the well-respected Learning Zone – a fully-equipped area staffed by experts – with its own programme of highly-focused talks to help you to improve your techniques. It really is a case of just turn-up and learn.

The Microscience Microscopy Congress 2019 will be held in Manchester, 1 – 4 July 2019.
