Charity Success for Malvern’s Marathon Man
Sep 25 2012
A Customer Support Manager from the French subsidiary of UK-based materials characterisation company Malvern Instruments has run the equivalent of 10 marathons in 10 days, raising more than £5000 for charity along the way.
Christophe Lasne, who started his epic journey on 21 July 2012 in Paris, France, took part in the ‘Val d'Yvette-Londres 2012 en courant’, a unique 410-mile run which ended at the Olympic Park in London on 30 July 2012.
Mr Lasne was running for ‘Aide et Action’, a charity that supports education for all, and works towards providing teaching for the most vulnerable children across the world. He was inspired after seeing some of the charity’s work during a business trip to Guinea, West Africa.
“We are extremely proud of Christophe’s achievement,” said David Higgs, Head of Marketing at Malvern Instruments. “His effort and endeavour is an inspiration to us as all here at Malvern and as a company we appreciate the value of education and learning, so Aide et Action is a charity that we fully endorse”.
Supporting Christophe on his final 6 miles were 13 colleagues from Malvern Instruments who helped him in his concluding leg to the home of athletics, the Olympic Park in Stratford, East London.
