Two Free Training Seminars on Laboratory Analysis

Hach Lange has announced two further free seminars for September in the fields of water and wastewater testing and monitoring. Previous similar events have been oversubscribed and anyone wishing to reserve a place is urged to do so as soon as possible.

Both one-day seminars are designed to be hands-on and informal providing tuition from some of the company's leading experts. Lunch and refreshments are provided and the details are as follows:

7th Sept '06, Edinburgh: ?Cost Reductions Through On-Site Sampling & Analysis'
Participants will gain a better understanding of the regulatory pressures that affect monitoring and testing, including:

o Polluter Pays Principle, calculating costs for discharge
o Efficient Sampling To Reduce Costs
o New Laboratory Technologies
o The Benefits of Analytical Quality Assurance
o Waste Recycling

27th Sept '06, Manchester: 'Basic Water Analysis - Putting Lab Skills Into Practice'
Participants will be provided with theoretical and practical advice on how to improve accuracy and efficiency in the laboratory, including:

o Analytical Quality Assurance
o The importance of calibration
o Sources of error
o Good laboratory technique - such as pipetting, sample handling etc.
o The latest lab technologies including ?HQD' - High Quality Digital electrochemistry meters for pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen
o Hands-on practical calibration and analysis with DR2800 and DR5000 spectrophotometers, pH, conductivity and dissolved oxygen meters
