Accreditation for Envigo Facilities in Spain
Dec 05 2016
Envigo’s contract research facilities in Barcelona, Spain have been granted full accreditation by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) International Council. This is the fourth of the company’s sites to be assessed and awarded in 2016 and demonstrates an ongoing strategic commitment to achieve AAALAC accreditation across all of its CRO and research models sites.
Recent enhancements at the Barcelona facilities in Santiga and Castellar included a newly built surgery room, refurbishment of several key areas used for research and animal boarding and new monitoring systems. The investments and accreditation would provide customers additional capacity and more flexibility in timelines when placing research studies at various Envigo facilities in Europe and the United States, the company said.
John Handley, President of EMEA Operations commented: “This is fantastic news for our research teams in Barcelona and recognition of Envigo’s dedication to the highest standards of care and quality. Securing AAALAC accreditation for another of our European facilities highlights the professionalism and expertise of our employees who work in partnership with our customers to develop products that make the world a healthier and safer place.”
