Dolomite seals microdroplet IP licence arrangements

Following the announcement that it has become a licensee under Japan Science and Technology Agency’s microdroplet generation technology, Dolomite Microfluidics is in a position to grant sublicences for use of droplet chips for R&D purposes.

The agreement covers JST’s patented WO2002/068104 and WO2005/089921microdroplet families.
Dolomite offers a range of droplet-forming devices featuring different junction geometries, channel sizes and surface properties. Sub-licences, which can be purchased through a web shop are issued on a per chip basis in any quantity from one to one million, said the company.

Dolomite CEO Andrew Lovatt commented: “We are very pleased to be able to offer this IP-licensing service to our clients, enabling them to continue with their
droplet research free from concerns about violating this fundamental IP.”
