analytica 2022: Discover the Digital Laboratory Future
Apr 01 2022
analytica 2020, the world leading trade fair for the analysis, laboratory technology and biotechnology industry, takes place at the Messe München trade-fair center from 21–24 June 2022. Learn about new and exciting developments at this world-leading event.
From all over the world, the international laboratory sector will come together, in person at analytica, its biggest industry platform, in Munich. The world’s leading trade fair for laboratory technology, analysis and biotechnology will include a special focus on the ongoing digitalisation of laboratories. The analytica conference and a full supporting program focusing on the practical transfer of knowledge will take place alongside the exhibition.
A unique shop window to the world of science
Across the show the industries' foremost companies will be exhibiting, showing a wide range of the latest technology and concepts in the global science industry. With many new products and technologies on show, analytica 2022 will provide a unique shop window to the world of science. The show appeals to a wide cross-section of industries, including medical/diagnostics, environmental, pharma/drug discovery, chemical, food analysis, forensics, bioinformatics, materials analysis and processing plus many more.
analytica virtual is the digital extension of analytica, and due to the Covid 19 pandemic, analytica 2020 was held purely virtual form. The exhibition was accessible 24 hours a day in order to enable visitors in all time zones to participate. Over 21,641 unique visitors from 152 countries participated while 268 exhibitors from 24 countries demonstrated their products and services on 323 virtual booths. The analytica conference with 119 scientific lectures had 2,126 visitors and more than 9,300 participations. In the future, analytica will continue to offer exhibitors and visitors a digital component
During analytica 2018, a total of 1,164 exhibitors from 49 countries presented their product innovations, including a number of world premieres, to some 35,000 visitors from all over the world. The swarm of visitors, of whom almost 40% had come from abroad, filled the halls and drove attendee numbers to a new record high. The strongest increases in visitor numbers came from China, Austria, Korea, Russia and Japan. The top visitor countries, aside from Germany (in this order): Austria, Switzerland, Italy, China, Great Britain and the USA. The industry's key players meet regularly at analytica: 85% of its visitors hold decision-making positions.
The analysis, biotechnology and laboratory technology sector still offers considerable potential due to the important role it has played in combating the pandemic. The industry association SPECTARIS expects the turnover of German companies alone to have increased by up to 10% in 2021. After the successful analytica virtual in 2020, analytica 2022 will once again fill five halls at the Munich trade fair site. “Finally, the exhibitors will be able to discuss innovations and products in person and they’re already looking ahead to the summer with confidence,” said Dr Reinhard Pfeiffer, Deputy CEO of Messe München. “For them, analytica is the most important sector meeting. It covers all aspects of laboratories in research and industry and does so more comprehensively and in a more in-depth manner than any other trade fair.”
analytica Exhibition Director, Armin Wittmann, added: “With analytica, we offer the sector a platform for working together on the laboratory of the future. Processes in laboratories are becoming increasingly digitalised, and more and more devices need to be interconnected in order to make laboratory processes more efficient. At the trade fair, we bring together the necessary know-how and allow researchers, companies and users to share ideas. This enables them to work together to further develop analytical and laboratory systems for Laboratory 4.0.”
The place for market leaders to meet
At the beginning of the year, all national and international market leaders from the sector confirmed that they would be taking part. The trade fair has noticed particularly high growth in the number of exhibitors active in COVID analysis and research. Siegbert Holtermüller, Chairman of the analytica Exhibitor Committee and Head of Sales Europe Life Science at Olympus, summed up the mood among the exhibitors: “The sector is looking forward to analytica 2022. Finally, we’ll be able to meet visitors and present our innovations in person again.”
analytica conference: Leading international speakers and renowned experts
The exhibition area will be complemented by the analytica conference and a full supporting program focusing on the practical transfer of knowledge and discussions between users and scientists. The renowned analytica conference has brought research and industry together for many years. For three days, international scientists and specialists will give informative talks looking at current research findings, innovative methods, their techniques and areas of use.
Supporting programmes: Focus on knowledge transfer
Various forums as part of the supporting program will look at day-to-day work in laboratories, interesting best-practice lectures and state-of-the-art tips for daily lab work: experts will present solutions for digitalisation in laboratories, innovative products in the areas of life sciences, biotechnology and diagnostics and best practice tips for making laboratory processes more efficient. In addition, exhibitors have the opportunity to book a 30-minute timeslot for a presentation on their own products and services.
The Finance Days will again offer information about financing for start-ups as well as small and medium-sized companies.
Practical tips for laboratory work can also be had around the show. As international market leaders demonstrate their products and systems in action. Crowd-pullers furthermore include the ‘explosive’ demonstrations at a special show on workplace health and safety.
One ticket, two trade shows
For the first time ever, analytica 2022 will take place at the same time as automatica, the leading trade fair for intelligent automation and robotics, and ceramitec, the international meeting place for the ceramics industry. As a result, the exhibitors will benefit from synergy effects. For example, the ceramics industry requires analytical devices to research new materials, while intelligent solutions from the field of automation are needed for ongoing digitalisation in laboratories. All exhibitor and visitor tickets for analytica allow entry to the two other trade fairs taking place at the same time.
Visitors and exhibitors can stay up-to-date with the latest information and optimise preparations for their visit to the fair by downloading the free analytica app. The app will be available at www.analytica.de/app prior to the fair.
