Dual-colour laser system for advanced microscopy

Toptica Photonics, a leading manufacturer of high-end laser systems, has introduced the FemtoFiber Ultra dual-colour laser system, specifically designed for advanced multi-colour non-linear microscopy applications. This innovative system is equipped with two synchronised laser lines, making it particularly well-suited for simultaneous multi-colour imaging and fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM), without the need for laser wavelength tuning.
The FemtoFiber Ultra laser system enhances imaging of biological samples, with significant benefits for metabolic imaging, such as simultaneous NADH and FAD measurements. The system's shared oscillator design ensures all-optical synchronisation, providing a fixed delay between the two colours with minimal jitter. Additionally, a single electronic trigger output serves as a reference for TCSPC and gated detection, simplifying the integration process.
Toptica’s femtosecond fibre lasers are renowned for their optimal performance and ease of use, making them ideal for neuroscience applications. The FemtoFiber ultra lasers are particularly effective in addressing biological questions through imaging of green (GFP) and red fluorescent proteins (RFP). These lasers are already widely adopted in non-linear microscopes, further cementing their position as a valuable tool in advanced microscopy.
