Oxford Instruments focuses on fundamental and applied sciences with strengthened team.

Oxford Instruments has announced a sharpened focus on fundamental and applied sciences by merging its Omicron NanoTechnology and nanoscience businesses to form Oxford Instruments Omicron NanoScience.

The acquisition of Omicron in 2011 brought Scanning Probe Microscopy, Electron Spectroscopy and Thin Film Deposition Techniques into Oxford Instruments NanoScience’s portfolio which already offered cryogenics and superconducting technology. The newly named company now concentrates the strengths of these two established brands and experienced support teams into a single business unit.

Dr Ferdinand Bartels, Managing Director of Oxford Instruments Omicron NanoScience says “I am very proud to be leading such a talented and professional team. Our new business will be focused on deliveringexcellence, both in our technology and our service and I look forward to an exciting future."
