Photo IC with Near Human Eye Response
Nov 04 2010
Hamamatsu Photonics introduce a new Photo IC, the S11154-01CT, whose spectral response characteristic closely resembles that of the human eye. The new sensor employs two active elements formed on the same chip, whose outputs are subtracted from each other by the current amplifier circuit. This enables the sensors response to be narrowed to the visible range whilst also reducing colour temperature errors.
The S11154-01CT features a lower output-current variation than typical phototransistors, whilst also exhibiting a low output deviation when different colour temperature sources are used. The new Photo IC also has excellent linearity characteristics and is suitable for lead-free reflow soldering.
The S11154-01CT is ideal for a range of light level measurement applications, and is particularly suited as an energy-saving sensor for large TVs and displays.
