Colour measurement with photoLab® 7000/6000 Series spectrophotometers

With the new photoLab® Color PC software, common colour measurements can be performed in a handy way. Colour determination by photometric measurement has increased the accuracy tremendously, compared to subjective perception of visual colour measurement.

Triggering the photometer via PC or laptop allows a clear data structure with a superb overview of all results directly on screen. This is beneficial especially for measurement series and repetitive measurements. All data can be output directly via PDF or printer, as well as saved and transferred to LIMS systems.

Colour measurement is essential for many applications, from water analysis to food & beverage and quality control in production processes. Colour values as a quality factor must fulfill usually values in a certain user-specific tolerance range. The measurement programs calculate the values standardized to standard methods with given cuvette sizes.

The following colour measurements are supported:

  • CIE-measurement 15:2004 of tristimulus values  XYZ, chromaticity coordinates x,y,z, CIE-L*a*b and CIE-L*u*v acc. to CIE 15:2004 3rd Edition
  • Yellowness Index
  • Gardner
  • Hazen
  • Iodine value
  • ICUMSA
  • Beer colour EBC
  • ASTM.

The photoLab Color software runs on current Series 7000 and former Series 6000 spectrophotometers.
