Optimised Photochemistry Module for GSM Chip Reactors

Uniqsis, a leading provider of chemistry innovation, presents the PHOTOCHIP™ high power LED photoreactor module, a cutting-edge solution designed to optimise photochemical reactions with superior mixing efficiency and precise temperature control.

Tailored for seamless integration, the PHOTOCHIP™ module is engineered to facilitate photochemical reactions across Uniqsis Glass Static Mixer (GSM) reactor blocks, commonly referred to as GSM chip reactors. This user-friendly device is optimised for optimal performance within the entire range of Uniqsis GSM reactor blocks.

Chemists can harness the power of the PHOTOCHIP™ module by selecting either a single large format or dual compact format Uniqsis GSMs. The module's operation wavelength (365nm, 385nm, 420nm, 450nm, 460nm, or 525nm) can be chosen to align with the desired photochemistry's excitation wavelength.

The high-power LEDs incorporated in the PHOTOCHIP™ module require liquid cooling. For reactions close to room temperature, effective temperature control is achieved through the integration of cold-water supply or a recirculating system. These cooling circuits can be connected in series to efficiently manage both the reactor and LED temperatures.

To ensure safety and prevent exposure to intense light, each PHOTOCHIP™ module features an interlock mechanism. This mechanism cuts power to the LEDs if an attempt is made to remove the light unit while switched on. Additionally, a thermal switch safeguards the LEDs in instances of powering without adequate cooling.

For advanced heating and cooling capabilities, the PHOTOCHIP™ module can also be seamlessly adapted to the Uniqsis Polar Bear Plus GSM module by using a different PTFE spacer block.
