Ultrapure water purification system
Dec 13 2023
Thermo Fisher Scientific introduces the Thermo Scientific™ Aquanex™ Ultrapure Water Purification System, setting a new benchmark for dependable water purity and enhancing operational efficiency in laboratory settings.
The Aquanex system features two-point calibration and smart dispensing, ensuring enhanced accuracy and reproducibility in water purification. Equipped with a standard leak detection sensor and a maximum flow rate exceeding 1.5 L/min, this system is designed for optimal performance. Its user-friendly design includes an intuitive full-colour touchscreen display and the Thermo Scientific™ Aquanex™ Touch Smart Dispenser, providing operators with clear visibility into key parameters such as water quality, tank level, and dispensing options. The detachable Touch Smart Dispenser can be used to fill larger containers up to 10 feet away, offering flexibility and convenience.
Denzil Vaughn, Vice President and General Manager of Growth, Protection, and Separation at Thermo Fisher Scientific, remarked: “The intelligent Aquanex system delivers reliable performance, catering to the purification needs of diverse industries. Its easy maintenance and self-service design empower lab personnel to spend less time troubleshooting equipment and more time advancing scientific research.”
The Aquanex system meets the purification requirements for Type I ultrapure and Type II pure water across various industries, including analytical sciences (chromatography, spectroscopy, and total organic carbon analysis) and life sciences (genomics and cell/tissue culture, proteomics and immunology, pharmacology and drug discovery, and molecular biology and microbiology).
The system features two user interfaces, operating independently or in conjunction with the Thermo Scientific Aquanex Touch Smart Dispenser. Users can easily change components by removing the magnetic front panel for quick access, without the need for complicated fixtures; the unit automatically recognises new cartridges. Customised water usage is facilitated through three options - water saver mode, pack saver mode, and dynamic mode - offering an optimal balance of water conservation and operational cost benefits that can be configured for each lab’s needs. With minimal maintenance requirements, the long-life consumables last up to a year, and the ultrafilter has a two-year lifespan, effectively minimising the cost of ownership over time.
