Trace Analysis using Metrohm intelligent Pre-Concentration Technique - Matrix Elimination (MiPCT-ME)
Mar 08 2013
Metrohm has developed MiPCT-ME which represents a perfect choice for both trace and standard level analysis of anions and cations using ion chromatography (IC), particularly in the Power, Water and Environmental sectors. Metrohm solutions for ion chromatography have been proven to be reliable, robust instruments, with an ease of use facilitated through the intuitive MagIC Net software.
At the heart of the MiPCT-ME system, is the flagship 850 Professional IC, in combination with a suitable Sample Processor. The superbly designed and well established Dosino performs all the liquid handling (40-4000ul).
A selection of racks can be used for the Metrohm Sample Processors which means different vessel types and volumes can be used, for example 50ml polypropylene containers according the samples being run. In addition to the rack options for the Sample processor and the liquid handling by the Dosino, sample handling is further reduced, due to the automatic calibration from one single standard.
As well as pre-concentration for low concentrations, the method also includes matrix-elimination as standard, which means that in the case of any interfering sample matrix then this is eliminated automatically too. Use of an external rinse station ensures that the inside and outside of the sampling needle is thoroughly cleaned with a fresh supply of ultra-pure water in-between determinations. The ultra-pure water is also used for thorough rinsing of all analytical channels pre and post analysis.
The cost of ownership (or running costs) of Metrohm ion chromatography instruments are widely recognised as being much cheaper than those of our competitors, as they come with the benefit of a three year instrument and a ten year chemical suppressor warranty included as standard.
