Measuring sub visible protein aggregates

Quantifying the amount of protein aggregates and distinguishing aggregates from silicon oil droplets is important in protein solutions. The FlowCAM images each particle and provides a report on the number and size of particles and the proportions of aggregates to other particles such as silicon oil droplets. User definable libraries allow classification of particles to be easily made and stored and the FlowCAM has industry leading image quality to ensure the best possible measurement and classification of even transparent particles. An on-demand webinar is available showing how quick and simple measurements can be. Contact 01582 704807 or email for more details

Powder Flow Issues?

In granulation, tableting, fluidisation and caking the way in which a powder flows will affect and change its process suitability. Problems emptying storage drums, or silos, how easily powder fluidises and how to optimise the fluidisation are just some of the issues which the Revolution and Evolution Powder Flow Testers can help you to understand. The Revolution can test powders in the dynamic static, how they flow and behave, whilst the Evolution can show the effects of storage and transportation. Easy to use and providing comprehensive powder parameters such as avalanche angle, break energy, unconfined yield strength, the Revolution and Evolution help you characterise your powder issues. The new standard for characterising proteins – size, mobility, molecular weight  - and other sub micron particles – the DelsaMAX range

The new Beckman Coulter DelsaMax range allows characterisation of proteins, biologicals and sub micron particles in just a few seconds and requires only a small sample volume. It’s speed allows it to measure particle size and mobility simultaeneously on even very delicate protein molecules up to 10 times without the worry of perturbing the sample. Using the optional Assist unit ensures that air or gas bubbles that can be generated during mobility (zeta potential) measurements do not interfere with the data and it’s sensitivity means that mobility measurements can be made  down to 1nm. With a sample volume requirement of as little as 1µl (particle sizing) and comprehensive analysis software the new DelsaMax range offers unrivalled performance.  An optional autosampler can be used for high throughput and the DelsaMax can also be linked to HPLC systems as a detector.
