ALEXA Fluor 488 Added to Antibody and Protein Labelling Kit Range
Jun 08 2017
Innova Biosciences have announced it has added ALEXA Fluor® 488, one of the most popular fluorescent labels used by life science researchers, to its Lightning-Link® range of antibody and protein labelling kits.
Using secondary antibodies for fluorescent detection based applications is commonly associated with issues such as high background fluorescence and non-specific binding. The addition of the ALEXA Fluor 488 label to Lightning-Link kits now enables easy, direct conjugation of the label to primary antibodies.
Lightning-Link allows for conjugation of antibodies and proteins in less than 20 minutes, using a very simple protocol which is free of separation steps, saving researchers time and precious materials. Researchers also have the flexibility to label from as little as 10µg of their antibody to hundreds of milligrams. Alternative direct antibody labelling kits on the market for ALEXA Fluor 488 involve multiple steps and require far longer set-up and incubation times.
Nick Gee, CEO and CSO at Innova Biosciences, commented: “We are excited to be able to offer researchers access to ALEXA Fluor 488 in our Lightning-Link format, the World’s easiest-to-use primary antibody labelling technology. Innova Biosciences is committed to developing solutions that simplify processes and increase efficiency in the lab, and this new kit will make a huge difference to many researchers.”
