Mixing, heating, cooling
Sep 01 2020
IKA launches a new series of thermoshakers and with it a modern and effective combination of performance, safety, and the already proven IKA menu navigation. Mixing, heating, cooling - IKA MATRIX simplifies various mixing and temperature control tasks especially in laboratories belonging to the life science or pharma industry. Above all, the operation is self-explanatory.
With speeds of up to 3,000 rpm and 3 mm shaker diameter, the thermoshakers of the new IKA MATRIX product family achieve optimal mixing results in the milliliter range. They are suitable for blood samples, pharmaceutical agents, DNA/RNA samples or ELISA assays in various laboratory applications. Usually, a new laboratory device means training and adjustment. This is different with IKA MATRIX. IKA, the Baden-Württemberg-based company for laboratory, analytical and process technology, has developed an intuitive menu navigation over the last few years that hardly requires any explanation. This is beneficial for all users who require a high-performance thermoshaker for temperature control and mixing tasks even for the smallest volumes.
The menu speaks for itself:
For IKA, greatest possible user-friendliness is the top priority for every new product development. The modern and intuitive menu navigation also exists for the new thermoshakers, making everyday laboratory work easier and more convenient. Operators easily select which setting is important for their respective application – and, simple operation remains simple for all 7 models of the thermoshaker product family.
Effective combination of functionalities
In addition, there is a comprehensive and reliable bundle of functionalities available: Thanks to optimised speed adjustment, there are no sample losses due to wetting of the sample tube surface. The insulated and heatable "ThermoCover" lid ensures homogeneous sample temperatures, prevents condensate formation and thus ensures a constant sample concentration in the tubes. Moreover, the different inserts can be easily exchanged. To assure that everything runs smoothly even in the hectic laboratory routine, ramp programs ensure automatic and reliable control. Ultimately, several application-optimised temperature control modes, automatic attachment recognition and speed adjustment complete the functional spectrum of these modern shakers.
Applicability
IKA MATRIX thermoshakers are perfectly suited for a wide range of laboratory applications in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry as well as for microbiological applications such as:
- Cultivation of bacteria and yeasts
- Enzymatic reactions
- Transformation of bacterial and plasmid strains
- Denaturation of DNA, RNA and proteins
- Lysis reactions at 100°C
- Labelling of proteins and nucleic acids
- Metabolic functions of cells and tissue
- Mixing and dissolving of assays
Device variants
The product family IKA MATRIX offers a suitable device for every requirement. You would like to mix? Combine mixing and heating? Heating and cooling? Or even all at once? You can choose from 7 device variants with different performance ranges and fixed or variable inserts. IKA MATRIX is as flexible as you wish.
