The award winning DURAN® YOUTILITY bottle system represents a new generation of labo bottles for use in a wide range of scientific research applications. It is now available with amber coloured, low actinic glass. The amber glass offers protection against ultraviolet light for light sensitive material, and fully meets the requirements of the USP <660> and Eur. Ph. 3.2.1. The amber YOUTILITY bottles are available in four sizes: 125, 250, 500 and 1000 ml. They can be used for the storage or transport of chemicals that are sensitive to light in the 290 and 500 nm wavelength ranges.

The YOUTILITY glass bottles are moulded from the tried and tested DURAN®, a borosilicate 3.3 pharmacopoeial Type 1 glass. The special amber colour is permanently fired into the exterior glass surface. The external treatment does not affect the properties of the inner surface of the bottle. The ambered DURAN® glass offers the same excellent chemical resistance and temperature shock resistance as the clear.

Each amber DURAN® YOUTILITY bottle is supplied as a complete system, with an autoclavable, ergonomic YOUTILITY GL 45 plug seal cap, and a drip-free pouring ring. The YOUTILITY bottles feature white enamel graduations and have an integrated Retrace Code to allow full product traceability.

In recognition of the innovative products developed using a user-centric design process, DURAN® YOUTILITY was recently awarded with a silver IDEA® in the 2014 competition organised by the Industrial Designers Society of America for the YOUTILITY Laboratory Bottle System. This is the third product design award won by DURAN® YOUTILITY in addition to the Red Dot and iF awards.
