Carbolite Ashing Furnace with New Soft Closing Door
Jun 12 2015
The Carbolite range of AAF Ashing laboratory furnaces is designed specifically to provide optimum ashing conditions ensuring complete combustion of the sample. The range is ideal for ashing foods, plastics, coal and other hydrocarbon materials and is designed to comply with ISO 1171:2010 and ASTM D3174-04: 2010 (AAF11/3 and AAF 11/7only).
The AAF wire elements are protected from chemical & mechanical damage by a hard wearing alumina based liner (AAF 11/3 and AAF 11/7 only) whilst the AAF 11/18 and AAF 12/18 offer protection of the elements from carbon build-up or corrosive atmosphere, using silicon carbide tiles.
Air is preheated before it enters the chamber giving excellent uniformity throughout the chamber and the air inlet and tall chimney give an airflow of 4 to 5 changers per minute. The digital control delivers precise and repeatable temperatures.
For those laboratories where ashing is interspersed with other heat treatment work the AAF 12/18 provides all of the advantages of the AAF design, but with a higher maximum operating temperature of 1200°C.
The AAF furnace requires minimal bench space whilst a large floor area allows for a large number of samples and its robust design ensures a long lifespan, even with high carbon samples such as coal.
