Solvent recycler drives sustainability in pharma labs
Dec 16 2024
Biotech Fluidics has announced that a leading pharmaceutical company has invested in 17 SPR-200 solvent recycler units to enhance the sustainable use of solvents in HPLC systems across its analytical laboratories.
The SPR-200 operates as a standalone, externally powered unit, eliminating the need for an external computer and avoiding potential connectivity challenges with IT systems.
Designed for compatibility with most HPLC systems, the SPR-200 continuously monitors detector output signals during liquid chromatography. In customer laboratories, it has demonstrated the ability to recover up to 90% of the mobile phase by redirecting purified solvent into a dedicated reservoir during isocratic HPLC.
Fritiof Ponten, CEO of Biotech Fluidics, commented: “Controlled via an integral LED screen and membrane keyboard – the SPR-200’s user-friendly software allows you to configure operational parameters and to perform online monitoring and create an audit trail of recovered solvent.”
He added: “Not only does the SPR-200 improve sustainability in your lab, but it also quickly pays for itself by enabling you to recycle nearly all the solvent used in your isocratic HPLC systems.”
