Revolutionising HPLC: New LC Series offers advanced automation and sustainability

Agilent Technologies has unveiled its next-generation Agilent InfinityLab LC Series, comprising the 1290 Infinity III LC, 1260 Infinity III Prime LC, and 1260 Infinity III LC systems, including biocompatible options. These systems are the first to feature the new Agilent InfinityLab Assist Technology, designed to streamline lab operations with advanced automation and system assistance.

The InfinityLab Assist helps optimise tasks by automating instrument routines, simplifying sample preparation, and assisting with maintenance and troubleshooting. The inclusion of barcoding and camera technologies enhances sample tracking and reduces the likelihood of errors, improving accuracy and efficiency.

With this launch, Agilent aims to improve lab productivity by minimising manual operations and reducing operator training time. InfinityLab Assist technology provides real-time insights into system health, assisting analysts at all levels in achieving faster, more reliable results.

The new systems are also compatible with previous LC models and integrate seamlessly with chromatography data systems (CDS). Verified by the ACT 2.0 Ecolabel, these systems prioritise sustainability, being the first LC systems to provide users with a CO2 footprint analysis.

Philip Binns, President of Agilent’s Life Sciences and Applied Markets group, highlighted that this new series sets a benchmark in liquid chromatography, offering a robust solution for labs looking for enhanced automation, precision, and sustainability.

The Infinity III LC Series will be launched globally in October 2024 at major scientific events including HPLC 2024 in China, PharmSci 360 in the US, and the HUPO World Congress in Germany.
