Strategic appointment set to drive global innovation in clinical diagnostics

Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, a clinical diagnostics leader, has announced the appointment of Kevin O'Reilly as its new President. O'Reilly takes the helm from Julie Sawyer Montgomery, who has taken the role of Vice President and Group Executive at Danaher Diagnostics.
With over 30 years of experience in driving global innovation in the healthcare industry, O'Reilly brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. Sawyer Montgomery expressed confidence in O'Reilly's ability to lead, citing his passion for talent development and building winning teams to address customer needs through innovation and operational excellence. O'Reilly's extensive background in managing complex operating divisions positions him well to guide Beckman Coulter Diagnostics in its next phase.
Reflecting on his new role, O'Reilly emphasised the impact of Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, where millions of clinical samples representing people worldwide are analysed every hour. His enthusiasm stems from the company's legacy of innovation and its robust pipeline of diagnostic advancements poised to enhance healthcare outcomes globally.
Prior to joining Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, O'Reilly served as the President of Radiation Oncology Solutions at Varian Medical Systems. In this capacity, he oversaw over $3 billion in revenue and 6,500 associates globally. During his nearly 15-year tenure at Varian, O'Reilly led comprehensive solutions for radiation therapy customers, achieving world-class customer satisfaction and associate engagement scores while expanding market share.
O'Reilly holds an Honours diploma from the Technical University of Ireland and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Trinity College. His diverse background and leadership experience position him as a valuable asset in driving Beckman Coulter Diagnostics forward.
