High Throughput LC-MS Means Low Downtime
Mar 26 2014
The cost of a LC-MS dwarves the cost of a nitrogen generator, yet it is this that can cause problems if not chosen wisely. Nitrogen generators which incorporate a compressor in the same box look neat but have higher running costs, more replacement parts and longer downtimes. Such a system runs the risks of vibration, overheating and wet membranes. A service contract is a must.
Nitrogen generator systems from cmc Instruments do not run this risk. In addition, a higher quality membrane and a lower ratio ensure a longer lifetime. Annual maintenance involves a filter change and can be performed by the user in fifteen minutes. No service contract is needed.
To maximise profitability the pharmaceutical industry puts high demands on the instrumentation used. If any part of the LC-MS system requires downtime, planned or unplanned, it affects profitability. The belief at cmc Instruments is that it is not how much you pay on day one that matters – longevity, reliability, cost of ownership and low downtimes are more important. Customers tend to agree, cmc Instruments are market leaders in Germany.
The generators feature a simple front panel with rear gas outlets customised to the individual LC-MS. Different sizes are available so that multiple instruments can be supplied with nitrogen from one generator. Just quote the number of instruments, make and model – cmc Instruments will do the rest.
cmc Instruments manufacture a wide range of gas generators – nitrogen membrane, nitrogen PSA, hydrogen, zero air, TOC and purge gas – all to the same high standards. The complete product line is now sold and supported by Chromalytic in the UK.
