Aston University recently welcomed a delegation from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NAUU) to explore new opportunities for teaching and research collaboration. Led by NAUU’s President, Professor Jiang Bing, and facilitated by AEMG Education’s General Director Jenny Wang, the delegation’s visit aimed to strengthen ties between the two institutions.

The visit on 24 September was hosted by Aston University’s Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive, Professor Aleks Subic, at the University's corporate headquarters in Birmingham. The delegation also toured the laboratories within Aston’s College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, gaining insights into the university’s facilities and research capabilities.

During their stay, the NAUU representatives met with senior members of Aston’s leadership team, including Professor Mike Caine (Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Engagement and Innovation), Professor Gurpreet Jagpal (Chief Commercial Officer), Professor Jun Jie Wu (Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research), and Matt Dean (Executive Director of International). These discussions focused on potential collaborative projects and joint initiatives.

Professor Aleks Subic expressed his enthusiasm about the visit, saying: “It was a pleasure to welcome our visitors from NAUU and our AEMG colleagues to Aston University. Having previously visited NAUU, I was deeply impressed by their teaching and research strengths. This visit marks a significant step forward in advancing our partnership, and we look forward to fostering collaboration in the coming months.”

Professor Jiang Bing, President of NAUU, shared his excitement, stating, “I was thrilled to visit Aston University and look forward to future collaborations in teaching and research.”
