High-Performance -86º ULT Freezer to Launch at Analytica 2018

A new range of ecological ultra-low-temperature freezers developed by Telstar offers up to 20% greater performance and robustness than the market average as a result of the implementation of an innovative mechanical design that enhances the efficiency and quality level of freezing and cold storage procedures. The new ultra-low-temperature freezer has been conceived to reinforce the reliability and integrity of the cold preservation process, in addition to further minimise any potential risk from a technical perspective, such as mechanical breakage rates, disruptions and obstructions, and provides an extended lifetime to the whole equipment. Under Boreas brand, the new range of ultra-low-temperature freezers will be introduced by Telstar in Hall B2, Stand 215 at Analytica 2018.

The innovative Boreas ultra-low-temperature freezer is equipped with vacuum panels that ensure a high insulation quality and guarantee a temperature of -86ºC under an ambient up to +35º. Unlike standard freezers designed with panels based on polyurethane foam, the thin insulation provides Boreas with an enlarged storage capacity of up to 30%. The new equipment also incorporates improvements in the door locking and blocking processes, besides a new access mode to the pre-filters zone, a greater chamber space and the location of the electrical box. New door hinges located in the outside of the body have been adapted to ensure a solid closing system that, together with the integration of two new door magnetic seals, protects from the amount of ice within the freezer. At the same time, a bigger inner chamber radius offers greater uniformity and an electrical box has been moved to the side which guarantees better airflow and allows better service access and reliability. Furthermore, a direct access pre-filter without the need to open de door prevents accumulation of ice inside of the freezer.

Telstar ecological ultra-low-freezers line, which ranges from low temperature range -45°C to ultra-low-temperature range -86°C, is focused on efficient and safe sample storage in the laboratory and research process. Telstar Boreas ultra-low-freezer provides an innovative and energy efficient storage system, superior temperature performance and uniformity. It also offers the lowest power consumption and low noise level (< 50 dB(A)) in a small footprint, which enables a more optimised freezer layout and the flexibility to adapt to any space. Particularly designed for use in GMP facilities, the line has been developed using Telstar’s in-house cold storage technology.
