The best things in life are free - come to mmc2019

Did you know that entry to Europe’s largest exhibition dedicated to imaging and microscopy is FREE? What is more, there is an attractive range of free features for you to enjoy that will increase your knowledge and skills.

The exhibition - home to more than 100 companies

The mmc2019 exhibition is on a vast scale. This makes it the ideal place to view what is new and to talk directly to manufacturers. Whether you are in the market for new kit, or if you want to increase your knowledge of what is available, the mmc2019 exhibition is the place to be.

"I would encourage anyone who is actively involved in microscopy to come to Manchester in July,” said Allison Winton, CEO of the Royal Microscopical Society (RMS). “The exhibition provides a unique opportunity to compare equipment from different manufacturers and to talk directly to them. This is invaluable if you are looking to buy now, or when you are considering budgets in the future. You could really help your team with this additional knowledge."

Turn up and learn

The mmc2019 exhibition would not be complete without the renowned RMS Learning Zone. The area is equipped with an impressive range of light microscopes and table-top electron microscopes. These are attended to by impartial experts who will do their best to answer any questions that you may have and to help you improve your techniques.

“The Learning Zone has been a part of mmc since 2002, and it just gets better each year,” said Allison. “In this time, so many people have benefited from the experience and knowledge of our experts. The Zone also has its own lecture theatre with a rolling programme of talks. It really is a case of just turn up and learn.”

In addition to the Learning Zone, the hall has several lecture theatres dedicated to commercial workshops run by the exhibitors which, as you may have guessed, are also free to all visitors.

Getting to Manchester – support available

The scale of the mmc2019 exhibition really does justify spending a day away from the lab, but the RMS knows that obtaining funding for your travel can be difficult.

Allison said, “We aim to remove as many obstacles as possible to help you to join us at mmc2019. We have bursaries available – not just for conference attendees, but also for exhibition day visitors as well. We are offering up to £50 to each applicant.”

This could be a real help, for example, travel-time from London is a few minutes over two hours, and advanced fares with travel cards start at under £40. Birmingham is only an hour and a half, and Leeds and Liverpool are under an hour. What is stopping you?
